Dudelange, 15 décembre 2020 – Stena Line, LKW WALTER, Rostock Port et CFL multimodal sont fiers d’annoncer le lancement d’une nouvelle liaison ferroviaire entre le terminal intermodal de Bettembourg-Dudelange et le terminal RTM du Port de Rostock le 11 janvier 2021 prochain.
Stena Line, LKW WALTER, Rostock Port et CFL multimodal ont conclu avec succès un accord de partenariat avec le but d’étendre leur offre de services. Cette nouvelle connexion intermodale circule 3 fois par semaine et transporte des semi-remorques préhensibles et non- préhensibles ainsi que des conteneurs.
Les partenaires sont convaincus que ce service intermodal régulier, reliant les corridors ferroviaires existants (Lyon, Le Boulou) via Luxembourg au port de Rostock et ses lignes de ferry vers Trelleborg, est une autre étape importante vers l’expansion du réseau multimodal européen, combinant solutions ferroviaires combiné et ferries.
Ce nouveau train permettra également le report modal, avec le transfert d’un équivalent de 10 000 camions de la route vers le rail et des économies d’environ 18 000 tCO2 par an.
« Nous avons constaté une forte demande chez nos clients pour un service intermodal régulier entre le sud de l’Europe occidentale, y compris la France et l’Espagne, et la Scandinavie. Nous voyons un grand potentiel de développement dans les deux sens avec des produits tels que le bois, le papier et l’acier venant du nord et les aliments frais, les fruits et légumes et les produits de consommation venant du sud », déclare Fredrik Johansson, Shipping Logistics Sales & Business Development Manager chez Stena Line Group.
